The 54Mbps Wireless Access Point Storage (2.5" HDD) WAP-0007 is a multifunction device that connects multiple computers wirelessly for file sharing and also has an empty bay where you can install a 2.5” IDE Hard Disk for storage of documents, multimedia files, and software.

Incorporated into the design of this access point is a 10/100 Mbps Auto-MDIX RJ-45 Ethernet port for merging LANs (Local Area Network) and WLANs (Wireless Local Area Network) together allowing files to be shared between workstations.

The RP-SMA detachable Antenna works off the 2.4GHz frequency band to give a maximum wireless transfer data rate of 54Mbps (Megabits per second) so that browsing the web is no problem.

This Wireless Access Point has a single bay where a 2.5” hard drive from any manufacturer can be installed for storing documents like photos, music, videos, and movies which takes up lots of space on your notebook hard drive or for creating backups of your laptop HDD (hard disk drive).

There are 2 USB2.0 (Universal Serial Bus) ports for connecting external hard drives or flash drives to create more storage space for you r network. Disconnecting these external storage devices from the USB interfaces is simple with the plug-n-play function as it allows for easy removal without rebooting the system.

WEP 64/128-bit Web share key encryption and WPA-PSK security will allow you to keep your internet connection secure preventing unauthorized users from accessing data on your local network by filtering MAC addresses that you want to allow access to your home or small office network or by simply disabling your SSID (Service Set Identifier) broadcast.
