Having the proper tool is crucial for any Network Technician in order to troubleshoot all aspects of a network infrastructure effectively in a timely manner. This multifunction network and cable tester will permit technicians to test network topologies with the highest precision imaginable to increase speed and performance.

LanScaperPRO Network Tester – NT800 is manufactured by JDSU with high quality parts that make this cable and network tester the choice for network technicians. This network tester incorporates a back-lit LCD (liquid Crystal display) monitor that displays test results with alphanumeric characters and graphic icons. 10 soft buttons which include navigation keys makes operating and navigating this network tool easy. A low battery indicator will alert you when it’s time to recharge your device but with a battery life of 6.5 hrs to 70 hrs you should not see the indicator too often. Troubleshooting network for weaknesses is possible due to the RJ45 jack embedded into this multifunction tester. Internal speaker lets you hear different tones for different test performed.

Testing your cables for shorts, miswires, split pairs, and continuity is important because malfunctioning cables can bring down your whole network infrastructure. RJ45 ports can also be scanned to trace location where it’s being used. Pinging network devices for connectivity and IP address is another test that can be performed to identify Routers, Hubs, and NIC cards. Another test that can be performed is for identifying speed and dropped packets.

The JDSU LanScaperPRO – NT800 Network Tester includes alligator clips cable, 2 (1 ft) cables with RJ45 connectors, 2 (7.5 in) RJ12 to RJ12 cables for no-fault connection to RJ11 or RJ45 jacks, and nylon case. Requires four AA batteries (not included).
