Repairing damaged wires instead of purchasing brand new wires for applications like car alarms, radios, A/C units and automobiles not only saves you money but also the hassle of going to purchase new wires and risking electrical shops not having stock. Krimpa-Seal Heat Shrink Butt Splices are just what you need to fix those torn wires so that your electrical devices function properly again.

These Splices are made of a transparent, polyolefin sleeve that enables you to check alteration prior to crimping with crimping tool and shrinking with heat gun resulting in excellent working cables. What makes these electrical connectors excellent for marine industries is that they bear an adhesive that is non-disturbing to electronic signs and seals the wires making them water and corrosion resistant. For identification purposes, these non-flame retardant connectors are classified by color and wire gauge labeled on the tubes.

Krimpa-Seal Installation Instructions

Butt Connectors

  1. Strip the wire 5/16 ".
  2. Choose connector that meets the wire gauge and introduce the wire into the connector barrel.
  3. Make sure the wire is correctly seated and crimp the connector using an insulated connector crimping tool nest that matches the color or gauge of the connector. Do not crimp the solder sleeve.
  4. Repeat steps 1 thru 3 for opposite side.
  5. Apply heat evenly around the length of the tubing (including the crimp area) from the center out to the ends until the tubing fully recovers and the adhesive flows. Remove from the heat and let cool for a SEALED connection.
 

Rings, Spades, & Slip-Ons

  1. Strip the wire 5/16"
  2. Choose connector that meets the wire gauge and insert the wire into the terminal barrel.
  3. Make sure the wire is correctly seated and crimp the terminal barrel using an insulated connector crimping tool nest that matches the color or gauge of the terminal.
  4. Apply heat evenly around the length of the tubing (including the crimp area) until the tubing fully recovers and the adhesive flows. Remove from the heat and let cool for a SEALED connection.
 

For Best Results:

  • Use a heat gun of at least 400 F
  • When using an open flame, do not isolate the flame on one area of the tubing
  • Spread the heat evenly
  • Overheating the connector may cause damage to the tubing
  • Rating: 105 C
  • 600V maximum building wire
  • 1000V maximum in signs and fixtures
  • Not for Multiple Wire Connectors
