Crossover patch cables are designed to directly connect two devices together without a host network interface controller. These cross over Ethernet cables switch the wires, allowing the devices to bypass the hub or switch. Cross cables connect two devices of the same type, such as game machines and computers.

Crossover cables come in various lengths for any distance in the home. These patch cables are only available with a gray CM type PVC jacket and a green boot.

Shielded crossover patch cables are also offered for additional plug protection from external EMI/RFI from entering or exiting the cable. These shielded cross patch cables have shielded twisted pair wires that also protect neighboring pairs from cross talk.
