Nomex® Braided Sleeving

Nomex® Braided Sleeving
Nomex Braided Sleeving

With a tensile strength of 90,000 psi and can withstand temperatures up to 700°F, the Nomex Braided Sleeving is known for its high flame resistance. Because of the smooth and soft material, Nomex is used to make fire resistant protective gear for individuals that work in extreme heat conditions.

Although the woven material is docile, this braided sleeving resists most solvents, engineering chemicals, gasoline, most acids and bases. Installation over long cable runs are made easy because of the smooth braid pattern which allows cables to just slide through the non-slit braided sleeving.

Larger sizes may have lead times up to 4-6 weeks.

Accessories available including scissors, hot knives and installation tool.

me, myself and my waffle irons
So, can't know yet how this braid will perform as the waffle irons which I used it for are in rotation and yet to be redrawn for cleaning. Judging from the cauterising of the end cuts, it's plenty impervious to flame, which should translate to heat tolerance. If it remains supple despite the caked, cooked, cooking oil, I'll be very happy. The brand itself has a good name so the abrasion resistance should be as good or better than Wells' specs.
