The Gold Foil Reflective Heat Shield uses aerospace-grade material designed to provide outstanding radiant heat protection.
Combining the 6-mil-thick gold foil with a fire-resistant, pressure-sensitive adhesive reinforced with a fiberglass backing creates exceptional tear strength and durability. The adhesive meets or exceeds the FAA 12-second vertical burn requirement, ensuring dependable performance in demanding environments.
Capable of reflecting radiant heat up to 750°F and operating continuously at 500°F, this gold foil heat barrier maintains structural integrity under intense conditions. It begins to degrade only when exposed to 850°F continuous radiant heat. During normal operation, the foil achieves up to a 70°F temperature drop across its 6-mil thickness.
Can be cut into different shapes for each chassis style, repair and add to certain sections to reflect radiant heat.
Melt Point (ASTM D-2117): 850°F / 454°C
